I started editing in middle school, of all places, with an Ella Fitzgerald school project and Windows Movie Maker. Somewhere in the middle of putting it together, I realized I loved doing this.
After that came the AMVs. The first video I made just for fun was Naruto footage set to “Animal I Have Become,” and yes, it was exactly as cringey as you’re imagining. I still remember it fondly. I taught myself as I went, moving from Windows Movie Maker to Sony Vegas Pro, and eventually to Premiere Pro.
I’m mostly self-taught, but I also had a great mentor: Daniel Gradilla at Xpedition Media, who trained me. I graduated from Northwestern Connecticut Community College in 2019 with an Associates degree in Fine Arts, focused on digital media.
These days, I work in Premiere Pro Productions, helping keep multi-editor projects organized and preparing dialogue, sound effects, and music. Toon Ruins is where I get to spend more time talking about the animation that got me making videos in the first place.
